Just some random pics from the Antique Bike show at the Vintage Fest last weekend. I'm leaving today with the Wife for New Orleans to hang out at the 2011 Crescent City Blues & Barbeque Festival so there won't be any new posts until Tuesday at least. Maybe I'll see some cool stuff there to post, if not I still have stuff from Barber's. Y'all have fun!

More Cool Stuff!
Just some more pics I liked from Barber's.
Really neat old Triumph Pre-Unit Chopper. I couldn't own it because it's almost too cool to change, but it's so sad to see rotting away. Check out the little kid's seat up on the sissy bar. You have to have good insurance on your kids before you let them use that death trap .
Spenser and I slept under the tarp to keep an eye on stuff. This was the view I wake up to. Can't beat having the first thing you see in the morning be two sweet damn bikes.
Saw this gorgeous SuperGlide in the Antique clubs bike show. Never seen this color before and haven't seen a Shovelhead this clean since they were new.
The infamous Wall of Death. This alone is worth the price of admission to the festival.
The bikes they had on display out front.
Lots of Indians in this display. It seems that Indians work better for the type of riding they do on the wall.
I'd LOVE to ride this one.
Just imagine this beast going down the road back in the day.
Old Glory on display and looking beautiful.

More Pics From The Vintage Festival
Like most of y'all the best part of an event like this to me is the Swap Meet. This year was no exception, I saw plenty of sweet bikes, lots of cool potential projects and some plain ol' cool stuff. Maybe next year I'll be in the market for a new project and can jump on one of these deals. This year I'm just trying to get the Flyrite Sporty done. Anyway, here are some pics of stuff I thought was pretty neat.
Some very good makings for a nice Triumph pre-unit chopper.
Damn nice Panhead. Not much I'd change on this one.
My next door neighbor had one of these when I was a kid. This is the first kind of bike I ever rode. From here we graduated to a Honda Express, but I still like these cool little "monkey bikes".
Another great Triumph project. If you were looking for a Brit project you would have been in heaven this weekend.
I REALLY dug this golf cart. I have absolutely NO reason to have a golf cart, but I'd have still bought this one if I could.

Barber's Vintage Festival 2011 Was Great!
Once again The Vintage Fest was great. It was more crowded on Saturday than I have ever seen it. The swap meet was sold out and there was plenty of good deal to be had if you were looking for the right stuff. Apparently I wasn't since all I bought was a hat, a bubble shield, and too much over priced food. Ian scored big time, so did Bill. Larry and Spenser sold a decent amount of stuff and best of all Brother Roadside sent me a birthday present through a buddy of his since he couldn't make it himself (more on that later). I didn't get there until Saturday morning after these guys had scored all the cool stuff. Luckily I was looking for small stuff that I either need to buy new or won't be too bad to buy new since I couldn't find any of it there. I'll be posting pics I took while walking around so keep on coming back and enjoy the pics.
Crazy mini bike limo or something like that.
BEAUTIFUL Panhead.
Other side.
One of the many sweet Vincents to be seen.
Nice Indian Scout vertical twin.
Clean Triumph chopper. There seemed to be a lot of these this year.
Other side.
One of the few Shovelheads I saw that I really wish I had the money to buy.
More to come, see ya next time.

This weekend! If you can make it and you don't then you are truly screwing up! Look for me out there. I'll either be around other Haints, hanging with the GarCo crew or maybe just digging through a pile of junk in the swap. I'm getting there in Saturday morning and will be there until Sunday afternoon. If you see me say something ;-)

Sunday's Attempted Breakfast Ride
Whitey invited me to go on a breakfast ride with Him, Brandon and J.T. Sunday. Of course I said yes, once he told me it was a breakfast buffet with good bacon. SO Sunday morning I get up early and make it over to Pelham by 8 to meet Whitey. While we were waiting for the others a cool older guy stopped and we swapped stories about our old bikes for a little while. Finally we get a call from Brandon, it seems his bike was broke on the side of I-65 and he wanted us to bring him some oil so he could hopefully get going again. Whitey needed gas anyway so this was fine.....
Whitey arrives
Ready to go rescue Brandon
We saddled up and took off. After getting gas and buying some oil we got on the Interstate and proceeded to find Brandon and J.T.. Wasn't hard to find them of course, just look for the damn dirty Bikers on the side of the road...
Trying to make it go again
J.T. giving Moral support before realizing we had no morals to support.
After adding the oil and test running everything we decided to give it a try. The bike seemed to be running OK until we took off. We made it about 100 yards before Brandon's bike spewed a lot of smoke and pretty much died. Luckily we made it to the off ramp and up to the intersection before it stopped. We all got off our bikes and performed triage again, the consensus was that the patient needed a trauma unit. SO J.T. took off to get his truck. (Luckily he road his Sportster instead of the Shovel)....
J.T. off to get the ambulance
The sick patient and the Pelham Cop who stopped to see if he could help. Seemed like a nice guy, but we were beyond his help so he took off.
Some of the dead dinosaur juice that sprayed out of the engine on our short ride.
Finally J.T. gets back and we load the bike and head off to at least get SOME kind of breakfast. We went for a small Mom & Pop joint, but they were closed so we ended up at Waffle House.
Whitey taking off his gear.
The food was good and the conversation was great. We ended up having a pretty good time just sitting around on the side of the road and then again during breakfast. I think we managed to figure out how to solve all the world's problems...or at least why we hate hipsters. All good things must end so I said good bye to everyone and headed on home to spend the rest of the day with the family. I hope your weekend was as good as mine. Next time maybe we'll even get to use more than a quart of gas on the ride.

Another Saturday Hanging With Great Friends!
Yep, once again we hung out at the shop on Saturday and went for a fun lunch ride. I DID get some more work done on the Flyrite Sporty, but Spenser used up all the gas for the TIG welder so it didn't get finished. I'll finish it and get pics in a couple of weeks after things settle dawn. In the meantime once again I bring you the Saturday Lunch Ride.....(In Technicolor)!
Ian (The Big Pink) blasting by on his majorly refinished ironhead. Gone are all the goofy stuff that it came with to be replaced by freakishly cool new stuff.
Profiling on the XL.
Spenser and Larry racing to be first in line at the trough.
Damn traffic!
VRooooooooommmmmmmm!!!!!
Ross always rides so damn fast I can never get a good picture of him. I had to use the zoom when he was slowing for a stop light just to get this one!
Making the turn to get back to the shop for more chopping fun!

Some Stuff I Saw This Weekend
Had a Fun weekend. Friday night I saw Wanda Jackson the "Queen of Rockabilly" at Workplay. It was a great show and even at 70 years old this lady put on a great show and can still sing beautifully. If you get a chance to see her on this tour take advantage of it. Saturday was a fun day at Garco, but you'll see stuff about that later this week and Sunday was going to be a nice breakfast ride, but that's another story too. Today I'll show you some random pics from my riding around adventures this weekend.
Sunday while I was waiting for everyone to show up I saw this car in the parking lot and had to get some pics. It's a sweet 1967 Camaro SS with the RS grill. Sweet car and getting harder and harder to find out in the wild like this.
I love the hideaway headlights on these cars.
Unique 67 only taillights. This car even has the stock wheels and correct "short" center caps.
Classic lines, also the only year Camaro with the wing vents on the door windows. This is one of the ways to quickly spot a 67' Camaro or Firebird.
One of the roads near my house.
Another place on the journey. I love riding down tree lined roads.
More to come, just starting ya off slowly this week. NEXT WEEKEND is Barber's Vintage Festival and if you can possibly make it you need to make it!
