Random Fun at Bastard Bash 5

One of my favorite parts of the Bastard Bash is getting to hang out with great people. I only get to see most of them once a year and it is a blast trying to squeeze a whole years worth of visiting and hanging out into a few days. This has to be one of the most creative and skilled group of people I've had the good fortune to be a part of. I can't wait until next year to do it all over again. For now enjoy the random pics and stay tuned for more fun as I get the pics sorted and edited.

Where it all happens! They treat us great here and pretty much let us do our thing and don't give us a hard time. I guess it helps that for that weekend damn near every room in the place is rented by our folks.

Looking at the resort from across Hwy 129

Hanging out at night, doing what we chopper people do. Talking trash, swapping lies and enjoying adult beverages.

I'm sure they were comparing notes on their big wheels.

When we're not riding we try to get to know the new people and catch up with the ones we already know.

One is a French-Canadian and the other from Florida. Opposite ends of the road, but still great friends.

Even non-forum members show up and enjoy the fun. Nate, Andy and the rest of the crew came up from Alabama to take part in the craziness.

Just being artsy here.

When someone new would roll in we all gathered 'round to say hello and help 'em get settled in.

LTB looks amazed at what 007 was able to do with Rob's old rubbermount Sporty.

"So there I was trying to put the moves on her......"

Casey getting sucked into laying some paint on a bike.

"Oh man, how surprised was I when I felt her up?"

Boom Boom and Rezbomb grilling up Bambi and Bullwinkle.

Everyone waiting around for the vittles.

I told the girls that I was patient and would get a pic so they might as well give in ;-)

More hanging out.

Dimestore and his Wife made the journey up from one of our fine Southern Army bases.

Looking at Butters bike in the only safe way. Otherwise you may be blinded by its greatness.

3 amigos heading to dinner.

They're in awe of Vin's bike as they should be.

Sitting in the shade telling stories.

DJ and Fink talking about the crazy stuff they're doing to Rob's bike.

That's it for today. Check back for more!

Sportsters Of The Bash (pt. 2)

Yesterday's pics were taken while we were at the "Wheels Through Time" museum. These are the pics I took after we got back from there. Lots more bad ass bikes and before you say that their nice, but must have been slow on the Dragon let me tell you that there are some real speed demons in this group and very few of these bikes held up traffic at all during the Dragon Runs. Enjoy the pics!

If you don't see your pic that's because you missed out on a great party. You need to remedy that next year!

Sportsters Of The Bash (pt. 1)

The Bastard Bash is a party for the members of the Quad Cam Bastards forum (and friends) which is made up of folks who love custom/chopped Sportsters. To become a member of the forum you have to submit a picture of your bike and if approved you're in. You will not find a more innovative group of bike builders anywhere. Some of the work displayed on that board is beyond amazing. To get a good idea of this check out some of the bikes that made the party this year.

Some of these bikes have been in magazines and some should be.. If you love cool Sporties check out the QCB blog and if you own a cool Sporty apply to be a member of the forum. You won't regret it.

By the way, it's my Birthday today and what better B'day present than a ton of beautiful choppers to look at ;-)

My Favorite Sportster of the BMR.....

Of course I'm a little biased since Buttas is a friend of mine. I first met him through the Quad Cam Bastards forum and we got to hang out for a bit at the Bastard Bash last year. Buttas is damn fine bike builder and has out done himself with this one. If I'm not mistaken they shot it for Cycle Source so keep your eyes peeled for a real feature on this bike. In the meantime check out my pics and do a little drooling.

Kick ass narrowed tank, with a custom filler, sight gauge and the QCB logo placed on it. This is the same tank I showed you in an earlier post.

I love that steamroller look with the 16" wheel and the springer fork. Of course those pipes are custom made

Just more beauty to gaze upon.

Good view of the pipes here as well as the super clean fender set up.

Good view of the floorboards. Everyone said he couldn't put those on a Sporty, but he did anyway and they look great with the fat front end. Basically Buttas RIDES this bike (He was in the middle of a ride from FL to VA and back toe FL) so he needed more space to move his feet around on the road. The shifter set up took some trial and error and a few redo's but it came out great.

You can see how the rear brake set up worked out AND the required cam cover chop since he IS a member of the Quad Cam Bastards. You can also see the mods to the sprocket cover, most guys try to get rid of it, but some of us want to keep the rear Master Cyl in that spot so a little creativity is in order.

Rat Fink taillight and vintage style toolbox. I think he's road ready.
