Another Fun Filled Bike Post!

Another round of chopper goodness from the Big Mountain Run. Check em out and if you know any details about the bikes please post it up in the comments..

Nice Shovelhead with a dished tank and devil's tail sissybar.

I've always liked the Goodson style air cleaners and custom springers are ALWAYS cool.

Classic clean shovel, I like it! This is what people were riding when I got into this gig over 20 years ago.

I LOVE this Triumph, I wish I knew something about it. I took pictures, but never saw anyone around who looked like they were claiming it. If you know something PLEASE post it.

The paint was badass! They even painted the fork shrouds up by the headlight AND the lower legs.

.
Nice set of pipes and even more of a look at the rear fender and sissy bar.

Love the paint, look at the detail, it's even fishscaled on the forks. These are the little details that separate a cool bike from a totally bad ass one!

Even the tailight was cool and unusual.

And finally Stogie Joe's Sporty ready to celebrate Memorial Day.

A Tale Of Two Bad Boys

By now you should have figured out that I love my 1995 Bad Boy. I fell in love with this bike the day I saw the first ad back in late '94 and dreamed of one from that day forward. Over the years I would run across them every once in awhile, but never when I had money and when I DID have money none were to be found. I even built (badly I might add) a 1/12 scale model of one just like mine as well as having the little 1/18 Maisto version. I'm telling you I had it bad. Then after my "unfortunate incident" with the delivery truck I found myself with some money again and the deal dropped in my lap to buy this one. Since then I have been super happy and have ridden the hell out of this bike. We ride every day together and I hope to continue this for many more years. The thing about these bikes though is that they only made them in 1995, 96 & 97 and even those years they didn't make many...
1995
Total Production 3367
Blue Stripes - 1747
Red Stripes - 1618
Special Custom - 2 (HD did not record what the color was back then)

1996
Total Production - 3344
Purple Stripes - 1103
Turquoise Stripes - 1183
Yellow Stripes - 1058

1997
Total Production 1635
Blue Stripes - 424
Red Stripes - 444
Silver Stripes - 767

As you can see they only made about 2000 of the blue ones total. As a matter of fact I've never seen 2 together. I've only seen a couple of any color together a few times and one of those was at last years BMR when Chris from GA rode his red one up. So when Robbie mentioned his on facebook I was totally surprised and when he said he was riding it to BMR I was stoked. When he pulled in I couldn't stop grinning. He had only had his a few days at this point so it still had all the goofy stuff the previous owner had put on it. That will change soon I'm sure. While we were there I HAD to make sure I got some pics of both together. I wish I had made us move them to a better spot so that I could have gotten good clean shots of them together, but I wasn't thinking that clearly about it at the time. So these pics are what you get and I hope you enjoy them, I know I had fun taking them and seeing our bikes together.

Robbie's is so original it even has the big ass turn signals. Someone in the past had changed mine out to the newer small ones. I've taken the front ones off, but I leave the back ones on to tie the bag I use for work onto. So far I've made a sissy bar for mine, changed to the 12" apes and added the upswept fishtails. Robbie's has has some blue anodized covers added and pipes, otherwise it's original .

I think this is my favorite picture.

Look at our sweet babies!

The day we were leaving loaded down like pack mules.

From the rear.

From the front.

Ready to ride!

Stay tuned, more BMR pics to come. We went riding this weekend, but there was a big chance of rain so I didn't take pics.

A Few BMR Bikes

OK, We've gotten the event coverage out of the way, now it's time for some of the other stuff. Today we have a couple of bikes. I don't know much about them, but if you do feel free to tell me in the comments and I'll try to edit the post with the info.

Saw this guy riding this bike around all weekend. Sweet looking ride with very nice paint and LOTS of cool details to keep you looking.

Here it is parked near the Limpnickie trailer.

Better view of the paint and some of the other details. This time it was by the Bling's Cycles trailer. I'm pretty sure it was one of theirs, but I never got a chance to investigate.

If you can't find cool stuff to look closer at in this one you're blind!

Sweet old Ironhead, I'd love to hop on and ride away on this one. That's Curt and Nichole in the background.

Other side.

This one even has a DST sticker. One day I want some Ritchie Pan art!!

Just a nice basic simple XL hardtail chopper, ready to rack up some miles.

Another Blings Cycles bike.

A Twin Cam version. It's black and white so I screwed with the color in the pictures.

And the Sportster version ;-P

Lots more pics to come, so as usual have yo ass here!

Sunday - Going Home!

And we're finally up to Sunday morning. Saturday night I took it kinda easy. There was still some excitement, but I wasn't too involved in it. Let's just say that someone got what they were asking for. Finally we all went to sleep and got up ready to make the trip home.....

Some of the folks standing around talking and saying their goodbyes.

Check out those patches. Think Doug's been to some out of the way places?

Snuck this picture of Pickett when he wasn't looking.

Chris and Rick joined the goodbyes.

Nathan and Andy coming back with coffee. Can ya tell they had a wild weekend? Look at those faces!

Classic Andy picture right here.

Doug's ready to go.

Andy saying "wait for us!"

Finally we all got up, got packed and headed into town to gas up before leaving.

Chris showed up while we were there. That man had a LONG ride ahead of him, but he made it with no problems that I heard about.

A picture with my fan club ;-P

This armband survived the weekend in just about as rough a shape as we did.

On the road for home!

I was trying to take a picture of Brandon taking pictures (I'm weird like that), when Duane decide to try surfing.

He made it up!

We passed a glider field before we made it out of the mountains.

Picture my Wife took when I got home. On the way back Duane's borrowed bike broke so we got separated from the pack. Luckily the trucks were with us so we finally gave up on fixing the wiring and loaded him up. Then we hit the interstate to make time. I got off at the Alabama Welcome Center and the rest kept going. That worked pretty good for me because I was so tired that I was actually nodding off on the bike. This way I could make stops when I needed to and eventually made it home safe where I proceeded to sleep ELEVEN hours straight. I normally sleep about 5-6 so you can see that I was pretty damn tired. I've had time to recover so now I'm ready to go again. The next trip will be the Bastard Bash in August. It's another grass roots party that shouldn't be missed. Maybe I'll see you there.

Saturday Afternoon At BMR 2012

OK, We're getting toward the end of the weekend THEN I'll start posting some of the bike shots I took. Today we have pictures from the ride to the falls, at the falls and a few shots I took during the evening. Check em out and I hope ya like em.

Riding through the town of Tellico Plains. They're used to bikes, but I don't know if they were ready for all the chopper jockeys that poured in that weekend.

Starting up the Cherahola Skyway.

I love how the sides of the road are blurred and the camera focused on Shannon riding ahead of me.

The falls from the stream down below. We climbed up to that shelf you can see with the big round boulder on the right.

Everyone jumped in to play.

Roadside, Darren and Shannon playing in the freezing water. It felt good on a hot day.

You can see everyone up on the falls in this shot. I like to just wade in the shallow water more than get soaked sometimes. The water was so cold and clean that my feet felt totally relaxed and refreshed after this.

The ride back, you can see that Kim had Darren's camera and was trying to get some good shots from the back of Roadside's bike. I'm not sure if she was getting single shots or shooting short videos.

Kim wanted a picture of us together.

Chris and the Cycle Source crew on stage getting ready to give out the prizes.

Roadside Marty MC extraordinaire!

Fred and Dennis, a couple of great guys I met through the evil Facebook, and now we've finally seen each other in person.

And finally to close out the evening a picture of Butters moving his bike from the bike show area back to his campsite.

I know you're probably getting tired of this crap by now, but there are more pics to come. Stay tuned.....
