Big Mtn Run 2011, Where Do I Even Begin?

WOW! What a weekend. I had more fun than a human should be allowed to have. I took over 500 pics so it will take a while to sort them and get rid of the fuzzy, blurry or embarrassing ones. We rode up 13 strong in our group and had a 4 day weekend of hanging out with some of the best people in the world. It was great seeing friends like Timebomb and J-rod from the BDAC in Atlanta, QCB Rob and Flounder from Knoxville, Don Woods from the woods near his house and especially Roadside Marty. You just can't NOT have a good time when he's around. Here's a few shots to get the ball rolling I'll post more this week as I go through them.

Moon broke his clutch cable in the driveway of the party. He made it at least and Chauncy had a spare cable to get him going again. They make fun of us over packers, but they're happy when we have what they need.

Ryan doing a burnout, he was lucky a friend was there with a truck. He ended up blowing the tire, throwing the chain and basically having the time of his life.

Here is the burnout with out the flash. YES, his pipes ARE glowing that red. There was no light shining on them we had that baby wound out.

Confederate P-120

I'm off for the Big Mountain Run this weekend so I won't be around to post anything. Here's a few pics of a Confederate P-120  to hold you over. Y'all have fun, I know I sure as hell will!

Last Summer my Boss's son interned at Confederate Motorcycles and one day he brought this by for us to see. It's a Confederate P-120, one of their newer bikes. As you can see there is some BEAUTIFUL machine work on this bike and some great welds and other cool stuff. BUT, once it's all put together it looks like crap. At least that's my opinion,your mileage may vary. Excuse the quality of these pics, I took them with my cell phone quite a while back.

I lasted exactly 15 seconds on that seat , I can't imagine trying to ride on it.

Unique front suspension adn lots of other cool stuff that just doesn't look right all together.

Now to make it up to you here a couple of pics of my friend Zoom's chopper he built with Doc's help. Sweet classic lines and rides like a dream.

GarCo's 2011 Smokeout Chop Off Bike Part 2

Some more pics of the GarCo bike getting mocked up. Not much to add except this freaking bike is Loooonnngggg! I can't wait to see all the cool details that will end up on it.

Mocked and ready to roll. The rest of the running gear and other parts will go on this week. Larry plans to get it completely mocked up by Wednesday. We're leaving for BMR Thursday so he's gonna be busy this week!

Trying it on for size. It seems to fit just fine and I can't wait to see what the polished motor looks like in that frame.

Helmets of the Dixie Roundup! (Part 3)

The third installment, these are some of my favs. There will be more of these as I find more. I love to see the cool ideas people come up with.

Variation of the jet fighter helmet. I was thinking of getting one of these, I miss being able to flip down the visor like this. After 10 years of wearing a flight helmet in the Army, you get used to having cool stuff.

GarCo's 2011 Smokeout Chop Off Bike!

Larry started this project with the bottom 6 inches of a Shovel frame. Basically he just wanted all the mounts to be where they needed to be. The rest of the frame was built from that platform and is on its way to chopper glory. The tank is a mustang that after some serious modifications is slim, sexy. The frame will end up molded, the sissy bar is a vintage piece that Roadside Marty hooked Larry up with, the fender is flat and the forks are old HD narrowed by L.A. Speedshop. There will be a ton more stuff done to the bike, but for now here is a preview.

Larry had to test fit the frame and tank to make sure it was worthy. I know it looks like he is falling off, but he is really just lost in his fantasy of rolling down the freeway chasing down Bagger riders to inflict their due punishment.

Time to install the new rockers on the forks.

Damn bolts are too long, but that is easy to rectify.

Helmets of the Dixie Roundup! (Part 2)

Here is another installment of helmets seen at the round up. I think I may make this an on going thing. As I see more cool helmets I'll take pics and every once in awhile you get to see a new post full of them. Should find a BUNCH of cool ones at the BMR next weekend.

Ashley got this one painted for Larry as a Christmas present. The paint is unbelievable!

Helmets of the Dixie Roundup! (Part 1 of a bunch...)

Our helmets show people a little bit of what we're into. We all try to do something unique with our lid. We'd rather not wear them, but around here that's not an option. I was digging through the bike pics and realized that I had some decent views of people's helmets. I decided that it might be interesting to crop in on the helmets and feature a bunch of them on here. I have about 15 or so good shots, so I'll spread them out over a few days. Here is the first installment....

Spenser's Triumph....

This post is going to make Stewie all nostalgic on us. This is his old Triumph that he reworked about a million times and finally ended up getting pics taken by Back Street Heroes magazine. It took a while but they are finally in the latest issue (that we can get stateside). This bike was a fun cool little bike, but unfortunately it had to go to raise funds for the Shovelhead. It is missed, but Spenser takes solace in helping me with my Triumph and for that I'm grateful.

Clean and simple, just the way a Triumph should be. I LOVE those fork shrouds and would like to get a set for my bike. One day I guess.

Spent The Weekend in Nashville....

Moved my Step-son up to Nashville this weekend so I didn't get to do much bike related stuff. So to keep you entertained here is a pic I took of my Triumph the Friday before the Roundup. I may post some more stuff of from the Roundup or I may dig up something else this week. You know as soon as I do.
