Some Of My Favorite Paint From This Years Bash

Sorry I'm so slow posting lately it's been crazy at home and work (we moved work to a new building and I handled most of the move while the others guys kept the business running). One of the best things about the Bash is seeing the latest work in person that people bring to the party. We usually see pics of everything ahead of time, but seeing this stuff in person is really great. This year was no exception and today I'll show you some of the paint I really liked plus a pic of a goldwing that just didn't fit ;-)

This guy was in the room next Loaf and I Thursday night. He left Friday morning, but I HAD to take pictures of his bike. He seemed like a nice guy and probably rides the hell out of this, but it just looked so out of place around all those chopped Sportys.

This tank was all hand painted and blew me away. I'll let you look it over for yourself and drink in all the cool details. Casey knows his stuff and does great work.

Other side. It's a combination of classic sign painting, pinstripe artistry and graffiti. I really dig it.

And of course it had to have a cam cover painted on it somewhere.

This is Fink's tank, he painted his fender to match. It was all done in his garage and the massive flake was just unreal!

I'd have lost my mind just trying to tape this one out. This paint was knocked out of the park!

One more view.

All the bikes lined up in front of our rooms. We pretty much had the whole place rented out, plus most of the camping too.

Another one by Casey. The face just blows me away!

A little more of the art to see. The other side was just bare metal.

Hollie painted her tank white and let us go crazy with sharpies. She figured if it came out cool she'd clear coat it and if it sucked she'd just repaint it. I think it looks cool.

More of it.

You can see the crappy little flaming skull I drew in this one.

Some serious artists had a go at this one.

I hope she clears it and at least hangs it on the wall even if she doesn't want it on her bike anymore.

That's it for today. I'm finally getting a handle on things again so I hope to post more stuff this week.

Less Than A Week Until The 4th Bastard Bash!

A week from today I will be right in the middle of the 4th Annual Bastard Bash at Deal's Gap Resort. Last year's Bash was one of the best parties I've ever been to. It was pretty small and full of really great people. I'm sure this year will be more of the same. In honor of the upcoming festivities here are some of teh pics I took last year. Come on out if you can, it's worth the effort.

The founder of the QCB is Rob and this was the "Rubber Fist" It's been parted out and sent to new homes sine this pic, but Rob has another bike that is shaping up to be even better as an all around hooligan bike.

You probably saw the latest version of this bike in this month's Cycle Source. Buttas bike is a true work of art and as usual is every evolving into a better bike to fit the owner's current riding style. If you missed seeing this bike at the BMR then come on out to Deal's Gap to see it.

Justin came all the way from Canada with his XL. This bike also won a trophy at the Greasebag Jamboree

LTB OWNED the Dragon last year on this bad ass chopper. Who says longbikes can't handle???

My favorite tattoo artist Scott Alvarez was there!

Iron Hollie and her ol' man Big Fink made the party, where were you?

Pyro's Keg carrying Sporty! Ya had to be there.

Nice shot of all the bikes lined up outside the rooms. This is where all the rich Sporty riders stayed, us hicks from Alabama camped in the field on the other end of the property :-)

The Bastard Bash is coming up in August.

Trying to get things together to make the trip to the Bastard Bash at Deal's Gap in August. I'm getting pretty excited and am ready to go except that I need to get my damn Sportster running first. If you haven't heard of the Quad Cam Bastards you need to check out the QCB Blog  It's basically a group of Sportster Chopping Bastards who decided to start having a gathering of forum members. It's started to grow and now pretty much anyone is invited. Come up for the fun and enjoy the party. You can get more info here. In the meantime here are some pics I took last year to get you in the right frame of mind.

Gotta love a motorcycle resort being taken over by a group of chopper freaks.

This bike came all the way from Canada to partake of the festivities.

It had already been removed by the time I took this, but when this bike arrived it had a keg mounted to the sissy bar with an old Sporty oil tank mounted on the side with the tap installed. This beer went QUICK!

Alvarez's bike from Florida.

Everyone broke up into groups and went riding to different places.

My good friend Hollie's bike from Ohio.

The bikes are starting to trickle back in and people are getting their drinking shirts on.
